If most of beach volleyball competitions are usually played in the beach, where is beach volleyball going to be played in London if this city does not have any beach? Actually, organisers had a very good idea.

The beach volleyball competition will be located at the Prime Minister's doorstep, in the Horse Guard Parade, right next to St. James Park, in the heart of London. But what does this place have that makes it suitable for the pracitce of this sport? A temprorary arena has been built there, a very spacious place that hosts the yearly Trooping of the Colour for Queen Elizabeth.

The venue has a capacity similar to Wimbledon's main court and a total of 5,000 tones of sand have beeen brought from a quarry in Surrey.
