'The Snowman' is a children's picture book created by Raymond Briggs in 1978 and published in the UK by Hamish Hamilton and in the US by Random House.
There was a TV animated adaptation of the book televised in the UK on 26th of December 1982 that was nominated to the Academy Awards.
More recently a sequel of the book named 'The Snowman and the Snowdog' was produced by Channel 4 and aired on Christmas Eve 2012.
