According to a recently published list the best restaurant in the world is Noma in Denmark. This restaurant has been seen as the world's finest for three years now. it has two Michelin stars and is famous for using natural or, where possible, wild ingredients for its mainly Scandinavian recipes.

The second and third restaurants are both in Spain - El Celler de Can Roca in Girona and Mugaritz in San Sebastian. Both serve many kinds of regional Spanish and international cuisine.

The fourth and fifth restaurants are DOM in Brazil and Osteria Francescana in Italy; they have both raised their ratings from previous years.

Numbers 6, 7 and 10 are all American restaurants, two in New York and one in Chicago. Number 8 is another Spanish restaurant, again in San Sebstian, an area famous for its traditional Basque cooking.

Number 9 is in London in the Uk, run by the famous Heston Blumenthal.
