If you are looking for internationally famous people, one modern example is the actor Raul Julia, who died in 1994. He is probably best remembered for his comic role as Gomez Addams in the Addams Family Values films, but he was also a highly respected classical actor who gave brilliant performances in Shakespeare plays. He also won praise for his role as a political prisoner in Kiss of the Spider Woman and as the Brazilian activist Chico Mendez in The Burning Season.

Another famous name is that of composer Juan Acosta. Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez is also often cited as a famous Puerto Rican, but although her parents were Puerto Ricans she was actually born in New York, so can't really be considered a native Puerto Rican although she is proud of her heritage.
