Who gave FC Barcelona's player Eric Abidal a new liver for transplant?

Last year FC Barcelona's French player Eric Abidal was diagnosed a tumour in the liver from which he recovered surprisingly quickly and as strong as ever.
Abidal could even make it to the European Champions League final in Wembley, where FC Barcelona defeated Manchester United 3-1. It was a great moment when Barcelona's captain Carles Puyol gave Abidal his captain bracelet as a symbol of solidarity and recognition for his courage.
Unfortunately, a few weeks ago Abidal was told by doctors that he would need a liver transplant as a progress of his liver disease, although transplant was considered an option a year ago already.
Abidal's cousin, Gerard, is the donor of a liver that will save Abidal's life.
