This is something we haven't been told yet. His funeral was today (2nd May 2012), and an autopsy has been held, but it will be a while before the results are released. However, it has been confirmed that there is no sign of anything suspicious, eg foul play. At first when Greg Ham was found dead on 19 April 2012, police treated his home as a crime scene and carried out an investigation, but later it was announced that no crime had been committed. The exact cause of his death will probably be given in a few weeks.

Most people remember him as the flute player in Down Under in 1982. He composed the tune as well as playing it, but in the last years of his life he was very upset by a lawsuit from the heirs to the composer of the Australian tune 'Kookaburra', who claimed he had used parts of the tune while it was still in copyright. Ham denied this and was very hurt by the accusation.
