The men's singles trophy is made of silver gilt and is about 18 inches high. It was first made in 1887. The runner-up is awarded a silver plate with their name on it.

The women's singles champion receives a silver plate often known as the Rosewater Dish, decorated with figures from mythology. The runner-up is given a silver plate similar to that awarded in the men's singles. All the winners of the different doubles events win silver cups.

Since 1949 winners of the men's singles are given a small replica of the actual trophy, which they can keep. The trophy itself is quite ornate with decorated handles (there is a head with a winged helmet on each handle) and a design on the lid of the cup that looks like a pineapple.
