There is actually more white than any other colour - it appears on the vast majority of flags, but usually as a background colour. As a dominant colour, red is the most common, appearing on over 70% of flags around the world. After red the most popular colour is blue. Western and Slavic nations are especially fond of the red, white and blue combination.

Among African flags you find more yellow and green as well as the popular red, and many Arab countries use a variant of black, white and red.
