Is "I'm so Excited" the worst Pedro Almodovar's film ever?

I'm So Excited in its original Spanish has a title closer in meaning to
'the fleeing lovers' or possibly 'the passenger lovers'. As that may
suggest, it is intended as a light and slightly saucy comedy. It was
released in Spain in Marvh 2013 but will not appear in other countries
until June, so unless you are a Spanish speaker we won't know what it's
like for a while.
Early reviews
aren't that promising, though. The film is described as raunchy and
full of energy, but a lot of viewers found that the humour doesn't
always work and the characters are rather hard to care about. Since it
is a disaster spoof in the tradition of movies like Airplane!, you
probably aren't meant to care about them; but obviously a successful
film has to keep the viewer involved, and not everyone feels that I'm
So Excited has done that.
It will be interesting to see what the general opinion of the film is when it goes on general release. It's clearly very different from Almodovar's usual style.
