Art is a big field, so the first thing is to look at what qualifications or experience you have or are planning to get. You may specialise in fine art, photography, design, sculpture, art history or many other areas, and the career path can be different for each.

One thing to remember is that art-related jobs tend to be advertised much less than those in most other fields, so it is harder to get an idea of the job market from looking at job ads. A good place to start would be by asking an art tutor at your school or college for tips on networking and finding openings.
