Lincoln is directed by Steven Spielberg and stars Daniel Day Lewis as the famous US President and Sally Field as his wife. The film is based on part of a biogaphy of Lincoln by Doris Kearns Goodwin, Team of Rivals.
The main action of the film will centre on the later part of Lincoln's life - the eventual Northern victory in the American Civil War, leading to the abolition of slavery, and then his assassination in a theatre.
The film shouldn't be confused with another new movie, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, which you may gather from the title isn't a historical drama!
In the Spielberg film, the role of Lincoln was originally offered to Liam Nieson, who famously worked with Spielberg on Shindler's List. However, Nieson later decided he was too old for the part.
Lincoln is due for release in December 2012.
