Health experts generally recommend eating fresh rather than processed meat as much as possible, and just now there is new concern about this: scientists in Sweden have just proved a link between these meats and pancreatic cancer.

This new study seems to show clearly that eating a lot of foods like bacon, sausage and cured meat can increase your risk of this disease by almost 20%. However, they also point out that it's still a rare disease, and anyway the information isn't much of a surprise. There have been a number of earlier studies suggesting that if you eat a lot of any red meat and especially processed, it carries health risks.
People are often confused as to what processed meat actually is; as you can see from this list, a lot foods fall into this category and most non-vegetarians eat at least a few of them. As with most things, the key is moderation.
