Donna Summer produced a huge number of songs from 1975 onwards - you can find a complete list here. Her career began earlier than that - she was involved with music all her life, starting by singing in the local church choir as a child - but she first became well known for Love to Love You Baby in 1975. She co-wrote this song with Pete Bellotte and it was an immediate hit. Up to then she had worked more in bands or stage shows, though she had brought out an album in 1974 (Lady of the Night).

After Love to Love You she had several more hits in the 1970s including Could It Be Magic and Winter Melody. Then in 1977 her album, I Remember Yesterday, was released. On this album was the song for which she is probably best remembered - the classic I Feel Love.

After that she moved away from disco and produced several more hits, of which the most famous now are Hot Stuff and She Works Hard for the Money. She was still working when she diedon 17 May 2012.
