Trondheim is Norway's third largest city and is a famous centre for science and technology, so it is a busy and much visited place with plenty to see and do. It has a big international airport and good railway and tram connections, so getting around is no problem. The tram network also takes you out into the mountains and the forest, which are well worth visiting.

The city itself is rich in art and culture, with a number of museums and art galleries. Its musical heritage is very important, and a lot of people go there to hear the symphony orchestra or visit one of the concert halls. Trondheim is also a religious centre of long standing, and this is reflected in the architecture, and the Pilgrim Ways which many visitors like to walk along even today. But there is also plenty of lively night life with dancing and more modern music.
