This was probably the Paramount Theatre. It was in the
famous district of 43rd Street and Broadway, and the world famous
Paramount Pictures used it as the location for their film premieres. It was built
in 1926, but the building is still a famous New York landmark.

The original Paramount Theatre no longer exists – it was closed
down in 1964 – but the name had become so famous that it was passed on to
another theatre in Madison Square Garden, which has since become another iconic
location.

In its heyday the Paramount was also known for its live
entertainment. Singers and other entertainers performed there from the 1930s
onwards.

Although there is nothing left of the original theatre, the Wurlitzer organ was taken out and is now kept in a museum, and part of the building is now the home of the Hard Rock Cafe. You can learn more about the Paramount theatre here.
