This is such an interesting question I had a really good search to try and find the answer. At present there doesn't appear to be one, not online at any rate. You could probably try to contact Prof Randy Lewis at Utah State University and ask him, as he is the scientist mainly involved in the spider goat project. My guess is that nobody has actually tried to eat one of these goats yet, as they are still very young and of course they were bred to make silk and not to be eaten, so no doubt the scientists will be busy with them for some time yet.

Thinking about it, there doesn't seem to be a good reason why the meat should be harmful, as it seems to be a silk-producing gene that is put into the goats, which should have nothing to do with a spider's poison sacs - and come to that, not all spiders are necessarily harmful to humans either, although you wouldn't get me to eat one ...

So why not email Prof Lewis and ask? I'd be very interested in the answer, and so maybe would others on the site.
