Swiss corporation New7Wonders Foundation chose the New Seven Wonders from 200 existing monuments in 2001. Most of the new seven wonders are popular names like the Great Wall. However, Egypt's Great Pyramid of Giza was not on the list as Egyptians was not happy to compete with the modern rivals like the Statue of Liberty.
