Who invented the Hot Air Balloon?

The French brothers Joseph and Jacques-Ettiene Montgolfier were the inventors of the first hot air Balloon that flied for first time in the 3rd of June of 1783.

The hot air balloon, also called the Montgolfiere, was made of silk paper and the air was heated by burning wool and straw.The first successful manned flight was launched in October of the year 1783 and Pilatre de Rozier and Marquis D'Arlandes became the first ever human to ascend.

It reached to an altitude of 300 meters (885 ft.).

The first balloon that carried passengers was launched in Lyon (France) in January of 1784 and reached an altitude of 3000 ft.
