The longest tennis match in the history of the Olympics was on Friday the 3rd 2012 in the match between Roger Federer and Juan Martin del Potro. Federer was the winner of the game 3 - 6, 7 - 6 (7/5), 19-17 that won him the finals.

The match was the longest in an olympic competition as it lasted 4 hours and 26 minutes! Only the last set lasted 2 hours and 43 minutes! This lenght surpasses the match between Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic at the Madrid Masters in Madrid in 2009, which lasted 4 hours and 2 minutes.
