London is the first city in the world to host modern Olympic games three times. The first time is in 1908, second in 1948, and third in 2012.

The 1908 Summer Olympics was originally goinging to be held in Rome, but because of the nature desater - the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, Italy was no longer able to prepare for the game. Instead, London is selected, and the London 1908 is accepted as the 4th modern Olympic Games.
