The largest feathered animal in existence is the ostrich.
However a recent discovery in northeastern China by a team led by Xing Xu of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing and colleagues discovered a previously unknown dinosaur which they are calling Yutyrannus huali, meaning “beautiful feathered tyrant”.
The feathered animal lived 125 million years ago and weighed around 1,400 kg (3,000 lbs) when adult.
