In Zaragoza you can visit a lot of religious monuments like the impressive "El Pilar", a giant Basílica, where you can see the famous Virgen del Pilar as well as Goya's frescos or "La Seo" cathedral, one of the most beautifull churches in Spain.

If you like modern architecture you can go for a walk by the river Ebro and enjoy the buildings at the site that the Expo Zaragoza was held in 2008. La Torre del Agua, the Pavilion Bridge and the Congress Hall are some of the great buildings remaining from that international exhibition.

There are also a lot of great museums to visit. You shouldn't miss the Camón Aznar (Fine Art) and Pablo Serrano Museums (Modern Art).

It's so easy to find a good place to eat in Zaragoza. You'll find delicious "Los huevos rotos" (broken eggs), a typical "tapa" from this city that is fried scrambled eggs with chips and serrano ham or bacon.

Zaragoza or Saragossa is in Aragon, and it is the capital of the region, so it's an important city. It's also situated half way between Barcelona and Madrid, which makes it a good base for visiting other parts of Spain.

It's an ancient city with Roman remains as well as a lot of historical and religious monuments left by the many people of different faiths and cultures who have lived there. If you are interested in history and architecture, you will be fascinated by the old part of the city.

There is also plenty of nightlife with night clubs, bars, restaurants etc. One very good way to get a feel of Zaragoza is to go on a dramatised tour, where the city's past is acted out in front of you - you can get details from the tourist information centre.

Whatever your tastes, you should find something to interest you in this large and diverse city.
