Yes, it has just been announced that the much loved sitcom, which first appeared in the 1960s, is going to be made into a film in the next couple of years - and not just a TV film as has been done with a lot of sitcoms (and with Dads Army itself) but a cinema version.
The cast has already been chosen with Toby Jones in the role of Captain Mainwaring, and will be directed by Oliver Parker, who made the St Trinians films. Fans of the original series are certainly interested, though it has been questioned whether cinema audiences, who are often much younger, will go in large numbers to see a comedy set in World War 2, and based on a show that last aired in 1977. However, for many the humour is timeless, and it's also true that the audience for 'older' films is much larger now, so it could be a success.
