I don't know what country you are in, but as far as I know there is no country where you can file for divorce on those grounds alone. In the UK, for example, there are five main grounds: adultery, desertion, living separately for two years by official arrangement, or for five years without, or unreasonable behaviour.

The last one is the only ground that comes close to meeting your case, but however unpleasant your in-laws may be that does not mean that your husband or wife is behaving badly unless he or she is helping or encouraging the in laws to ill-treat you, which may be hard to prove.

It sounds as if you and your spouse need to have a long talk. Do they know how unhappy you are? What steps would they be willing to take to change the situation? If you've talked and your spouse is unwilling to do anything, and you really can't live with your in-laws, then you may need to start thinking about a separation. If you click here you will find plenty of official advice, including how to find marriage counselling and legal help. Good luck.
