If you have young children, more active, traditional games like Hunt the Thimble are good (you can use any small object such as a ring.) simply send one person out of the room, hide the thimble or ring somewhere and ask the person back inside. Then everyone just keeps shouting 'Warmer' or 'Colder' as the person gets closer to or further away from the object.

Musical chairs is fun too - play music, have one less chair than the number of people in the room, and when the music stops everyone rushes to sit down. This goes on till there is only one cbair left.. Or you can play musical statues, where everyone has to stand completely still when the music stops, and if you move you are 'out'.

Your family may also like board games - my family tend to go for the tradtional ones like Scrabble and Cluedo or Monopoly, or active games like Twister, but there are plenty of new ones on the market too.
