Based on the level of respect or formality, you can say "Hello. Can I speak to Mr. Lee?" in Korean in 3 ways:

  • Informal: yeoboseyo, misteo li woa tonghwa halsu itseo? (여보세요, 미스터 리와 통화 할수 있어?), yeoboseyo, misteo li woa tonghwa hal su it ni? (여보세요, 미스터 리와 통화 할수 있니?)
  • Formal: yeoboseyo, misteo li woa tonghwa halsu itseoyo? (여보세요, 미스터 리와 통화 할수 있어요?), yeoboseyo, misteo li woa tonghwa halsu itseupnigga? (여보세요, 미스터리와 통화 할수 있습니까?)
  • Very Formal: yeoboseyo, misteo li woa tonghwa halsu itseupnigga? (여보세요, 미스터리와 통화 할수 있습니까?)

- to speak: tonghwahada (통화하다), jeonhwahada (전화하다), malhada (말하다)
