Where is the best ski area in the UK?

Most UK skiiers prefer Scotland. There are several resorts in Scotland, mainly in the Highlands but also in lower parts of the country, which may be easier to reach from elsewhere in the UK. Scotland has five main ski centres, which are all popular with different skiiers depending on their level of skill and they type of skiing they prefer. If you click here you can explore official Scottish Tourist Board information on the five main centres, what they offer and how to choose the right one for you.

With recent cold winters there has also been more interest in skiing in other parts of the UK, mainly northern England and Wales - there is some useful information here. The problem with these areas of course - and even with Scotland to some extent - is that the weather is more changeable than in many other European resorts and snow is more uncertain, which is probably why UK winter sport destinations get a lot of last-minute bookings.
