Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal has been elected by the Spanish Olympic committee as the Spanish sportsman who will carry the flag in the opening ceremony at London 2012.

Nadal has confessed he is overwhelmed and thankful for having the honour of carrying the Spanish flag. At present, Nadal is one of the most famous Spanish sportsman and in Spain there is widespread consensus that he is probably the best Spanish sportsman of all times.
