The best times of the year to visit Tokyo are spring and autumn. The summer can be extremely humid, especially in August, and in June there is a high chance of rain. The winter can also get very cold so this may not be ideal either.

In March the famous cherry blossoms start to appear in Tokyo and other Japanese cities, and they remain in bloom until about mid-April. Although it can still be cold at this time, the blossoms are so beautiful that this is still a popular time to visit. May is also a nice month, but the first week of May is a busy holiday period so this is not the easiest time to go.

In the autumn the leaves change colour and the weather is still mild, so this is another good time, especially September and October. However, the city of Tokyo is full of attractions that can be enjoyed at any time of year.
