Maryland is only one state in the US that allows same-sex divorce although Maryland still does not permit this kind of marriage.

The highest court in Maryland ruled in May that gay and lesbian couples legally married in another state could get divorce in Maryland.

However, same-sex marriage will be legal in Maryland in January 2013 so the law could have a very short life.
