If you suffer Sulfite Allergy, you may be allergic to wine as it contains high levels of sulfites, more than 100 ppm.
Sulfites can increase asthma symptoms particularly in adults with severe disease. Studies show that some asthmatics can have severe asthma symptoms when eating foods, drinking beverages or inhaling fumes that contain sulfites. Not just wine, dried fruits, bottled lemon/lime juice, grape juice, pickled onions all contain high levels of sulfites.
