Should Britain have the same time as France and Germany?

Britain is unusual in our part of Europe in using GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) rather than CET (central European time), which means that we are always an hour behind our near neighbours such as France and Germany.
Several MPs in the past have tried to bring a motion before the House of Commons to adopt CET, which would make it much easier for us to do business with our nearest trading partners. It would also mean fewer road accidents as more occur later in the day than in the early morning, and better light in the evening would improve this.
Overall a small majority of British people are in favour of changing the time, mainly because they would prefer to have more daylight after work. However, in the further north and especially in Scotland a majority are against this, as they would have a longer time of darkness in the mornings. Some people think a different time zone for the two countries could also be a solution.
