How do you cook authentic Indian chicken curry?

There are many ways to cook chicken curry. The most convenient way is to buy pre-made curry source from supermarkets, and all you need to do is add the chicken to the source. However, it wont be the best way to cook and wont taste great. To cook mouth watering authentic Indian chicken curry, you need to get the following ingredients:

  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 tsp graded fresh ginger
  • 6 groves of crushed fresh garlic
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2tsp chilli powder
  • 1tsp dhaniya powder
  • 1tsp Graham masala powder
  • 1 chopped medium sized onion
  • 2 chopped tomatoes

You can get the above ingredients from any Indian or Asian specialist shop. Once you get all the ingredients ready, the actually cooking is very easy.
  1. add 2 table spoon of oil into a hot non stick pan
  2. when the pan gets hot, add the mustard seeds
  3. after 30 seconds, add ginger, garlic and chopped onions.
  4. fry until the onions get half brown
  5. add the chilli powder, turmeric powder, dhaniya powder and graham masala, stir fry for about 1 minute
  6. add the chicken and salt, fry for 3 minutes, and add tomatoes
  7. add water just enough to cover the chicken, and bring the pan to boil
  8. turn the heat down, and slow cook for further 15-20 minutes

You can garnish the curry with fresh coriander leaves and sever with rice or Nan.
