There were a total of 302 medal events, with 10,500 athletes taking part. The athletes came from 205 nations altogether. 26 different sports were included and the Games lasted for 17 days.

The focus now is on the Paralympics. This is going to be the biggest ever, with 503 medal events and 4,200 athletes. The Games themselves will be shorter than the Olympics, lasting for 11 days. Ticket sales are very high, as many people who enjoyed the Olympics are now eager to be involved in the Paralympics too.
