It is always tricky to choose a right time to tell your employer that you are pregnant. Although your employer has to decide how to cope with it, you should not feel guilty as its their obligations.

If you are in low risk jobs, you can wait until you are around 3 months pregnant. However, if you think your job poses any risk to your unborn baby, you should tell your employer right away.

Once you have told your employers, they should assess all the aspects of your work to see if it poses a risk for you and your baby. If your work involves chemicals, x-rays, heavy lifting, and etc, they should offer you alternative work.

Read your employment contract and find out what benefits you are entitled in your pregnancy. You can also ask your midwife for information.
