Question

How to identify a genuine LV bag?

A lot of people think that a genuine LV bag has to have 'made in France' marked on it, but in fact this is not true. LV bags can also be made in Spain, Germany, Italy and the US. Signs to look for include the stitching, which should be very regular - fake bags often have clumsy stitching if you look closely - and there will be exact numbers of stitches in specific places, like the leather tab.

Once you have found a bag, you can check if it is genuine by looking it up on the LV website. Search for your exact item and compare the one you have with all the details for the one on the site: What is the stitching made of? Is there a date code? Points like these will show you the difference. If you are really unsure, take your bag to a reputable boutique and ask them - somebody will know.
