Tomorrow (August 15th 2012) two of the best basketball teams of all times will play for the gold medal at the Olympics.

On the one hand, Spain has a superb team although it has not been playing well and has not outshine its rivals as it used to do until not long ago. But they have a fierce spirit of true champions as we could see against Russia and France. The Spanish team is strong, talented and experienced and, most importantly, many of its players play or have played at the NBA: Navarro, the Gasol brothers, Rudy, Ibaka so they know how to create problems to the Americans.

On the other hand, the US team is the most powerful basketball team of the planet at the moment. The talent and force of Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant is almost impossible to beat but Spain is the only team that can create them problems. The US is not invincible, look at the game against Lithuania, they almost lose against a team that later lost to Russia. I believe if Spain wants to win both its shooters and its interior passing will have to be perfect all the way through. I think we willl watch a very intense match since the beginning as Spain knows it can't sleep all the way through until the third quarter against the US, on the risk of suffering an embarrassing defeat. The US will have to play as a team and maximise its excellent passing game and triple game.
