Real Madrid has won the UEFA Champions League 9 times so far. This makes the Champions League their most successful international event, though they have won other trophies repeatedly too - for example, they have won the EUFA Europa League twice, the EUSA cup three times and and the UEFA Super cup once.
Their most recent Champions League victory was in 2002, although since then they have several times won the semi-finals or the quarter finals, in fact they reached the semi-finals three times in succession in 2011, 2012 and 2013. And even though they have not had a recent victory in this tournament, with nine wins they are still the most successful club in the history of the event. In fact Spanish clubs overall have had more wins than those of any other country, though the reigning champions at the moment are Germany's Bayern Munich.
