David Bowie has been married twice. His first wife was Mary Angela Barnett, and American actress and model - they married in 1970 and have one son, Duncan Zowie Bowie, who is now known as Duncan Jones. Angela was an inspiration for the film Velvet Goldmine, and the main character is partly based on her; it is also said that she is the inspiration for the Rolling Stones song Angie, though this has never been confirmed. The couple divorced in 1980.
In 1992 David Bowie married Iman, the Somali model (Iman Mohamed Abdulmajeed), and they have one daughter, Alexandria, now aged 12. Iman owns a cosmetics company and is also known for her charity work.
David Bowie is currently in the charts again after producing no new work for several years. His new single is Where Are We Now, about his time working in Berlin in the 1970s.
