How do I get rid of ingrown hairs?

When a hair fails to reach the follicle opening, and curls back on it self, it becomes an ingrown hair. If you shave regularly, its very likely you will have ingrown hairs.

Sometimes, ingrown hairs are trapped under a thin layer of skin. You can try daily exfoliation to see if you can remove them. If not, apply ingrown hair lotion (such as tea tree oil) to dry the skin. When the hair is drawn to the surface, pick it up with a sterilised tweezer.

A proper shaving and good skin care routine can minimise the occurrence of ingrown hairs. Try to keep your skin clean, soft and moisturised.
