People tend to go to Dubai for the beaches and the shopping, and it is an exceptionally good destination for both of these. However, there are many other reasons to visit the city.
It is home to some of the world's most famous buildings. These include the Burj Al Arab hotel, the world's fourth biggest building and famous for its distinctive appearance and the complicated engineering that was needed to build it. It is generally seen as the world's most luxurious hotel (services include personal butlers) but as it is also extremely expensive a lot of people just go there to look at it.
It is less well known that Dubai is full of museums, libraries and art galleries, and some of these especially the main Dubai Museum are well worth visiting. There are also some beautiful mosques and other older buildings.Then there are some impressive attractions like the ski centre - artificial snow makes it possible to go skiiing in this very hot city.
