Wipe quickly after every use with a damp cloth and a little liquid cleanser (e.g. Flash). If something has been spilt during cooking, you can sprinkle salt on to spills to soak up grease, and then wipe it with cloth. To remove burnt-on patches, you can use a nylon scourer or a mark&stain eraser sponge.

Do a deep clean once a week by taking the pan supports, burner caps and heads off the hob. If there is burnt-on food on the hob top, you can loosen it by covering it with a cloth dipped in soap water. You can put the pan supports in the dishwasher, but check the manufacture's instructions first. You can also wash them in hot soapy water.

Clean burner caps and aluminium hob rings with as Brillo pad. Do not put them in water as it may rust the non-vitreous underside.

The slots in the burner head where the flames burn need to be clear of residues so the burners can work safely. Clean it with a nylon brush, rinse and dry thoroughly.

Once pan supports, burner caps, heads are clean, wipe the hob top. If you gas hob has a glass lid, wash the lid as well. Take care to put everything back, and job done!
