Are tea and coffee good for preventing diabetes?

Studies have shown that tea may help prevent the development of type 1 diabetes and slow the progression once it has developed and also shown that coffee helps prevent type 2 diabetes.

People who drink three or four cups of coffee or tea a day cut their risk of developing diabetes by a fifth or more, say researchers in Archives of Internal Medicine. The researchers conclude that some compounds such as magnesium and antioxidant In tea and coffee may help prevent the disease.
