HPV stands for Human Papilloma Virus and is a very common infection.

It is not as scared as it sounds, as most women get HPV at some times in their life. In most cases, the body will clear it on its own and does not require any treatment.

There are many types of HPV, and most of the types are harmless. However, the types causing cervical abnormalities are high risk HPV, and can develop into cervical cancer. These cases need immediate treatment.
