Milan has three international airports. The biggest is Malpensa International Airport, which is Italy's second most used airport with almost 20 million passengers a year.It is about 30 miles from central Milan and joined to the city by a rail link.
Linate Airport is smaller and more central. It is located inside Milan itself, but serves only half as many passengers as Malpensa, and the international flights from there are mainly short-haul ones. It also has a lot of domestic traffic.
The third main airport is Orio al Serio. This is also known as Milan-Bergamo because it is closer to the city of Bergamo than to Milan. However, it is an important airport for Milan, carrying about 8 million passengers a year. It is mainly used by low-cost airlines.
There is another airport in Milan called Milano Bresso. However, this is only for private flights and would not normally be included if you are looking for a flight to Milan.
