Madrid has three airports: Barajas International, Cuatro Vientos and Torrejonde Ardoz.

The biggest, and the main airport is Barajas International. This is the airport used by most of the capital's commercial traffic. It is the fourth biggest airport in Europe and the 11th in the world, with about 50 million passengers last year. It is about 8 miles from the city's old centre and is easily reached by a public transport network including bus or train You can find a full guide to the airport here.

Cuatro Vientos, which means Four Winds in English, is the oldest airport in Madrid and is also close to the centre. It is much smaller and mainly used by smaller aircraft.

Torrejonde Ardoz has a lot of use from private and defence aircraft.
