Anxiety affects most people from time to time. It only really becomes a disorder if it happens frequently and when there seems to be no cause. If someone feels nervous and afraid all or most of the time, whatever their situation, this is sometimes called General Anxiety Disorder.

Milder symptoms of this include a general feeling of unease, as if something bad was about to happen but you don't know what. This often goes with an inability to stay in one place or concentrate for long periods. Again, it's quite normal to feel like this some of the time, but if it's a habitual state there may be a problem.

You may also experience stronger symptoms, especially when in a situation that makes you anxious. These include increased heartbeat, sweating, dizziness and other fear-related sensations.
