The 2012 Paralympics closed on Sunday 9 September. The ceremony was directed by Kim Gavin, who also directed the Olympics closing ceremony. It was titled the Festival of Flame.
The evening began with a vintage car driven by Prince Edward past a parade of drummers. It continued with a flag-raising ceremony accompanied by music from Coldplay. Coldplay provided most of the music for the evening, with help from some other performers such as Rihanna.
Later in the evening their were also performances by acrobats and a display of uniquely designed vehicles - one was in the shape of a fish, for instance.
Swimmer Ellie Simmonds and sprinter Jonnie Peacock, both British medallists, put out the Olympic flames. Lord Coe then closed the ceremony, praising the incredible achievements of the athletes, and the spectacle ended with a display of fireworks.
