According to 2013 statistics, the country with the highest rate of skin cancer is still Australia. According to the Australian Government's department of health and aging, two out of three Australians will develop a form of skin cancer by the age of 70, based on current predictions.
Not all of these cases are fatal - in fact the mortality rate from skin cancers in Australia has improved - but there are still a large number of cases of melanoma, the most dangerous of the skin cancers, and many of these are among younger people, so we can expect Australia to remain high on the list. You can learn more about these figures here.
Australia's figures about 13 times the global average. This can be partly explained by the hot sunny climate and by the fact that Australians tend to spend a lot of time outdoors and the dangers of too much exposure to sun have only been understood in relatively recent years. Also, they have very good methods for detecting cancers, so may be diagnosing more than some other countries.
