How do I get perfect fake tan?

The really glowing, natural looking fake tans that you sometimes see on TV are professionally applied in a salon, which of course costs a lot more than doing it yourself. For tanning at home, the first thing is to decide whether to go for a spray or a lotion or gel type product. You can get excellent results with a spray but they are harder to put on. If you've never tried one before, it's best to start early in the year (when you won't be showing much flesh for a while) and try it on your legs or upper body (nowhere visible) as it can come out very blotchy until you've got the trick of it.

Lotions and gels usually go on more evenly, though the cheaper ones can still go patchy. They take longer and a lot of them give a less tanned effect, which may or may not be what you want.

You can find a good selection here - they're not the cheapest, but the cheap ones do tend to smell a bit. I think this is something it's better to spend a bit more money on.
